I'm not a terribly big fan of professional sports as spectacle; specifically, I have a particular ire directed toward the NFL in the US. To be exactly precise, I do not like the way that these incredibly, highly paid athletes act like fools on the field for doing their job. Can you imagine if I spiked my computer onto the floor or howled at the ceiling every time I completed a project? What would you think if you walked by a road crew who was celebrating by pitching their equipment into the air after filling a pothole?
I know my opinion is in the minority on this, and I certainly will welcome flack. I do enjoy sports! I really enjoy participating in them. I just do not like the attitude that goes along with it.
