Susan Storm whose brother is the Human Torch Johnny Storm slowly turns into a love story with Sussan meeting Reed Richards Mr. Fantastic himself, the second time of meeting him she was looking in becoming an actress and that's when they tried and became an item.
She met Reed during the time he was working on his aircraft which he took the rest of the Fantastic Four with him And we all know what happened next once the ship entered space and crash-landed on earth giving Susan her forms of invisibility.
Reed convinced Susan to stay on board and become a superhero.
