It was a stream of boxes this week at home through the mail. Sort of like a new surprise waiting for me every day when I got home from work. Hey, it's fun and enjoyable, and I hope some of these hold value down the road. This week had lots of Momokos...so you are warned!
First up is Peach's Crossover 1 set. The trade dress on the far left was limited to 1000 copies; the sketch and foil were each limited to 500 copies each. Scarcity, scarcity, scarcity...that's my hope at least once this series takes off.
Next up is an insane cover from Jason Shawn Alexander for issue number 2 of The Department of Truth. There is quite a bit of talk about this series being turned around quickly in Hollywood. Whether that means a film or television series, I'm not sure, but this one is a great read dabbling into Carl Jung and conspiracy theories. The virgin color was limited to 400 books, the black and white virgin 250 issues, and 100 copies on the foil trade dress.
Back to two Peach Momoko Kickstarter specials. I picked up the trade dress and sketch for Miskatonic 1 and We Live 1. As usual, I dropped the ball and forgot to pick up the virgins for both (which of course has all the value currently).
One I actually didn't forget about it is next...
This is John Gallagher's Crossover. A Hive Comics exclusive, and limited to 500 copies, this is a beauty. Another one that I think will hold value long term.
More rarity here too; limited to 400 copies is Zoe Lacchei's virgin for Dark Red. I really am beginning to love Zoe's work; she's easily an artist I'll be watching out for going forward.
My last Department of Truth. A cover buy again given the rumors regarding the series; this is the "secret variant" yet I have no idea on print size.
Captain Marvel 23 is a gorgeous Russell Dauterman b-cover. This is a key due a number of first appearances/cameos in the Marvel mythos with Namor's son Ove, and Brigid...daughter of Thor.
Last but not least is this Middleton Batgirl 50. This features the first appearance of CW's new Batwoman, Ryan Wilder. I doubt this will hold as much value as it currently is, but perhaps the new Batwoman will take off. Time will tell.
That's it for this week; thanks for stopping by and checking these out. On to next week!
