More Momokos, so everyone is warned. A few books showed up that I don't recall preordering, but like everything else over the past few months with COVID, some comics were ordered in a fog too. But as a former high school friend/current music teacher of Hattie's likes to play for us on Saturday mornings, the Beatles did say It's Getting Better All the Time. At least that is what we're telling ourselves as winter is starting to bear down on us early up North .
Hey, the long dark winter might indeed be on the way, but we're still getting comics up here to enjoy! The books I've been sharing on Sundays are more from an investment perspective, but I really need to get back to sharing books I'm reading too. A goal next week will be to get back into reviewing books I'm enjoying with my fellow comic book fans. In the meantime, here are some books I bought in hopes of long term value appreciation.
The first is a pure cover/art buy. Batman: The Adventure Continues 4, Peach Momoko. I love this piece; print runs were not given on this one, and secondary sales are currently mild, but I love the colors and art on this one. I mean, it's a Momoko Harley...what's not to love here??
Here were some pure cover buys that I preordered. I don' expect these two Momokos to go up much in value, so I bought these to just stick in my Momoko long box and hold. There were lots of ratios and variants that Peach had for this one, but I did not attempt to track them all down.
Another pure Momoko preorder buy; there is a 1:25 virgin ratio out there too, but I kept it to the regular trade dress. Another book for the long box to just hold on to long term.
The last Momoko for me this week is the virgin variant for We Only Find Them When They're Dead issue 1. I bought this one but passed on the glow in the dark version of this cover. I probably screwed up and should have bought the GITD version, but I can only buy so many books, you know???
Here is my favorite cover of the week. Something Is Killing the Children issue 11, the Zu Orzu store exclusive...I love this cover! This print run was limited to 300 books, so I like the scarcity...great story, beautiful art, and limited quantities. I like this book a lot long term.
That's it for this week; thanks for reading and let me know what you think. Also, let me know what you are looking at for buys this coming week from a spec standpoint..it would be fun to get some chats on here on Hive, you know? Hoping everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
