It was an interesting week having been quarantined; our little girl's daycare provider tested positive last week Tuesday. That means we're potentially infected too...but as we are asymptomatic, we aren't eligible for a test with our insurance. So the best advice we received was to stay home for two weeks and watch our daughter. I mean...let's be real here; talk about some confusion over here with this pandemic. One insurance plan will test you immediately, others tell you to wait 5-7 days before being tested, and then others yet say no test needed if no symptoms are shown. It's a mess. Hey, as stressful as this all is, at least we got some new comic books in the mail!
First up is Jeehyung Lee's Spider-Gwen for The Amazing Spider-Man number 50. There were no print runs listed for this one, and there is nothing overly key with this issue. I really only picked it up as I've been collecting Spider-Gwen's for Hattie.
Next up is a new favorite artist for me; Zoe Lacchei and her Something Is Killing the Children number 11. This was a book limited to 500 in quantity, I love grabbing these low run/scarce books, especially with good titles. I think Lacchei's work is quite gorgeous...she is up there with Peach for books I'm looking to purchase for the collection.
Another number 11 is Inhyuk Lee's variant. The trade dress was limited to 200 copies, as was the virgin. There was a 100 count color splash copy too, but that one sold out immediately. I'm happy I was able to get this set, however.
Don't worry, I still got my Peach Momokos this week! This is her X-Men 12 Chibi covers. Again, no print runs were listed, which I get but I also don't care for...but it was an easy buy as I do love Peach's artwork.
Lee's Spider-Gwen for ASM 47...again, no print runs listed, but I grabbed it for the Spider Gwen collection...and finally...
Phantom Strarkiller! I got very lucky to be able to pick this up off of eBay once it sold out online everywhere else. I have not read the story yet, but I love this cover. I love the art of Schmalke...I'll be looking to add more of his work going forward to. I have to think this book has a relatively low print size; I'm banking on this one appreciating versus the USD over time.
That's it for this week - drop a line or comment! And please feel free to share any books you to got this week.
