As you might know, if you have followed me of late, I've attempted to refine my comic book collecting skills. Not so much on stuff, I like to read, but more on attempting to figure out books that will hold some value long term. Like any other investment strategy, it takes some luck to hit big. Since I'm not lucky, I've chosen to concentrate on books that are a) scarce, b) possible keys, and c) feature beautiful artwork. If a book has all three, I'm certainly nn. And each week, I like to share my pickups with like-minded collectors who enjoy the hobby.
First up this week is the image above, which I'll show again:
This the Peach Momoko Department of Truth number 1. The color virgin has a run size of 400 books; the sketch virgin is 250 in size. I remember passing on a 100 run size trade dress/foil..dumb! Not sure what I was thinking as that one is getting $400 USD on eBay.Still, I"m happy with these Momokos; the picture doesn't do the artwork justice.
Up next is Momomoko's Thor 6. A "minor Cates key" in the Thor mythos, the trade dress had a run size of 4000 copies. The virgin had a 1000 run size.
Last but not least is a second copy of the 1:25 2nd print of Magnificent Ms. Marvel 13. This features the first appearance of Amulet, and as you know, Ms. Marvel is picking up steam thanks to Disney +. This is my second copy of the book as I got it for a decent price on eBay.
That's it for this week. Let me know what you got this week, or any thoughts on the books above. Thanks for reading, as always!
