Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most talked about topics in the world today. The origins of this branch of computer science revolve around machines capable of working and reacting like humans. Although some common concepts of mechanical intelligence have been around for a long time, the field of work on those concepts was created in the middle of the twentieth century. The term "Artificial Intelligence" was officially recognized at a Dartmouth College workshop in 1956.
Although there was interest from various institutions and governments in the beginning, investment in artificial intelligence research and industry declined in the nineteen seventies. This time is called "AI Winter". In the eighties, Japan spent a lot of money on intelligent programs. But the overall situation did not improve much until the first few years of the nineties. With the advent of computer technology around 2000, artificial intelligence gained momentum. Following this, the top technology companies are now in fierce competition to establish their dominance in the industry.
