One of my favourite comics when I was a kid was Ghost Rider.
This guy Johnny Blaze makes a deal with the devil to cure his dying father of cancer. His father is saved from Cancer but then immediately dies in an accident. The devil, known as Mephisto claims Johnny’s soul and he is transformed into a Ghost Rider, a leather-clad skeleton with a flaming skull head. Johnny Is forced to punish the wicked and evil upon Mephisto's demands.
Similar to the Hulk when he gets angry, Johnny transforms into the Ghostrider whenever he is in the presence of evil... I suppose the idea is that he is continuing the work of Mephisto, returning acts of evil to Hell.
Blaze would also help the innocent when they were in danger and has this hippie helper who looks a little like Jesus.
Marvel has started making new Ghost Rider comics and recently I found Volume 1 of the New Series.

YES! All time favorite for me. Appeals to the dark , vengeful side of us as well as the hopeful and virtue of protecting innocence. I even got a Ghostrider tattoo, albeit a very bad one, lol.
Fantastic. I did hundreds of drawings of the Ghost Rider .... probably thousands.... That awesome flaming skull. Always on fire, never burning up.
