With the October 2011 release of Ar Return to Arkham, the beautifully rebuilt versions of the PS3 for the PS3 hit Arkham Asylum and Arkham City for PS4 - we can look back on this incredible franchise. The four games form the original Arkham series, one every year since Rocksteady broke expectations with Arkham Asylum in 2009. There are games for PlayStation Vita (Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate), iOS (Batman: Arkham Underworld) and PlayStation VR (Batman: Arkham VR).

What we like Exceptional action gameplay. Technically great game. Character complex enough. Attractive screenplay. What we don’t like Repeat side mission.

The quality of the bonus content is not at the level of the rest of the games. Just as the second film in Christopher Nolan's trilogy (The Dark Knight) is the best in the series, so is the fancy outing for Bruce Owen and The Joker in Arkham City in 2011. In fact, it's one of the best superhero games of all time. Why? Not only did the developers repeat what they did in the first game, they formed the basis of the title, with the style of Mlay warfare and the direction of the visual art, and applied it to a much larger world to tell a more ambitious story.
