Hello Everyone!
Hope you are doing good...
Today I'm going to share a food recipe. I will be making "Pittu", This dish is native to south India. There it is known as "Puttu" we call it "Pittu" here. Normally traditional Pittu is made with rice flour but today I'm not making it in the traditional way, I will be using Semolina as the main ingredient.
You can have it as breakfast or dinner, I usually have it as dinner. It is very less time-consuming. You can make it easily without any effort with simple ingredients available at home. As you all may know I'm a mother with a newborn so I prefer making simple foods that add good nutritional value to my food. So without taking much time let's see what the ingredients are.
Special note: To make this I'm using a Pittu maker. But you can steam it the way you want.
Ingredients
Semolina 2 Cups
Grated Coconut 2 Cups
1 Grated Carrot
1 large Onion cut into small pieces
Few Leeks (optional)
Chili flakes (optional) 1 tsp
Salt to taste
How to make it?
Step 1
Add Semolina and grated Coconut into a large bowl.
Step 2
Using your fingertips crumble the mixture until the texture is nice and dry.
Step 3
Add grated carrot and onion to the mixture.
Step 4
Add Salt and Chili flakes as you prefer.
Step 5
Crumble the mixture once again with all ingredients.
The mixture is ready to go into the Pittu maker. While I make the mixture I kept ready the Pittu maker.
Step 6
Add the mixture to the Pittu Bamboo.
Step 7
Close the Lid and wait for 10 mins until the steam comes out from the Lid.
Pittu is Ready to serve. Best served when hot accompanied with spicy chicken curry. I hope you will try my recipe. Let me know how it goes in the comment section below.
