Kharna is what the second day of chhath is called. For prasad Gud ki kheer is made and eaten with ghee lagi hui roti along with any fruit. My mom has always eaten banana as fruit and so did I when I observe my first chhath fast two years back.
The kheer is made on.wooden fire in a Brass mataki. And then on the same fire rotis are made.
There is a tradition to invite relatives and neighbors to eat Kheer or prasad as they call it.
I find making gud ki kheer tricky because if not done correct it might curdle the milk. So I add the jaggery by melting it with few tbsp of water and add this when kheer is just warm.
Happy chhath ladies, off to grinding whole wheat for making thekua, btw my mom went a little far and used the chaki at home this time to make the flour 😀.
