Hello my fellow blutters, hope you're all doing good. I'm here again to share an interesting food i prepared with you. This time, i prepared egusi soup with amala(a local meal that can be used to eat melon soup).
INGREDIENTS USED
- Melon
- Palm oil
- Vegetables
- Locust beans
- Salt
- Maggi
- Fish
- Cow skin
- Grinded yam flour
PREPARATION OF MELON SOUP
Firstly, i rinse the pot and light the stove to start cooking. I poured about 0.3 litres of oil in the pour and wait till its a bit hot.
I added my grinded semi-liquid melon to the hot oil and stir gently. I then covered it for about 3 minutes.
I added grinded pepper to my melon on fire then mix it with spoon. I covered the pot and allowed it to cook for about 2 minutes.
I added vegetables to it, though the vegetables has been chopped into smaller particles. ¼ of a teaspoon and two cubes of maggi was added. Add water if necessary.
I put the cow skin and fish after it cooked for a while.
I covered the pot till the soup is well cooked.
PREPARATION OF AMALA
The already rinsed pot is placed on cooking cylinder with clean water already poured in the pot.
As soon as the water is heated at 100°c, i took some of it in a container.
I poured my grinded yam powder in the hot water on the cylinder bit by bit and stir with stirring rod concurrently.
Once i noticed that my amala is smooth and doesn't have lump. I added the hot water i previously kept in a container to soften and make it cook well. I then close it for about 1 minute.
I finally stir it till its well mixed and smooth. I dished my meal in a plate ready to be eaten.
