I stole this shot Cos my girlfriend is ultra shy, overly shy than me. I am still trying to explain why i needed to take a shot of her while we both prepare a home cooked meal for us for the weekend. She’s just getting familiar with Blockchain, cryptocurrencies and rewarding dapps all thanks to me. But she still do not get the whole idea of blogging about lifestyle, weekend, cooking etc on a platform and get rewards for it, in her words, she says its unreal.

That's not the main topic, she came from another town about 10hours plus away to the city where I live. Its funny what we do for love because I didn't believe she could make that trip, also she came by road because airfares were too humongous to book. So imagine a guy who often eats out making hours long meal at home on a Saturday? It was odd but my girl won't allow me eating out, she never did that and I wasn't permitted to while she's around(lol).

I dare not object, but that gave me a perspective into what marriage and having a family looks like. I am about ten years older than my partner, that was a long battle to overcome while we first met. Some ladies love to date or marry their peer group, while some wants real matured guys and my girl was in between these two categories. It took a lot of sheer patience and understanding with time before we gel, time was my most greatest ally this time around anyways. Love doesn't have age limit or principles, it comes with no manual or set of rules because the way it works for Mr X and partner is definitely not how it will work for Mrs Z.

We are preparing African Jollof rice in a different way that I know of, that's another individual differences to work on between new couples, even though we are not married yet, but we will soonest. Although, this part was somehow treacherous, I hate seeing onions in my meals but she likes it, she eats it like Bugs Bunny loves his Carrots(lol). Furthermore, I love spicy hot meals because I get easily irritated, while my partner doesn't. So many things we do not have in common as per choice of meals, recipe and spices.

Errm, the Meal was made but I didn't eat much out of it, maybe the rest packed in the freezer will be more appealing to me tomorrow(lol). I have to eat to not make my girl feel bad, I mean it didn't taste bad but different from what I was used to and we both prepared it for over three hours. Tell me why I shouldn't disagree over the recipe selection?

But remember, she came all the way to see me and spend some days with me, she works with a domestic airline services and they were having operational issues, hence the time off work. The only way I could appreciate her more was to bend her will while I subtly reminded her that, when we get married; things will be done half ways to satisfy us both and not just one person. I think many relationships don't make that clear and that's why marriages these days have some issues(plus other things not known to the public).

You don't get to the meal we cooked cos of my girls stern about pictures, I don't mind flaunting my cubicle of a kitchen, its not a new thing when you live in the lower class rentage apartment in Lagos. Its too tiny for three people to be in at the same time, plus the Wash hand basin serves other purposes aside washing plates.

Even though I haven't gotten all what I prayed for, or attained my desired financial status. Or reached where I have projected I would be in life by my mid thirties.

Only a fool will take things for granted. To the little I have, my tiny kitchen, to the little i have given the needy and to those who helped me when i needed help. I am grateful for life and the things I could afford, I appreciate the love of my life and the little people around me I could call friends. I'm also thankful for my family, for good meals both home cooked or eaten out(way better than starving). If I am not in a better condition I won't be able to share these little life experience in this week's food engagement blog. Thanks for reading.

Hope y'all are having a great week!
