Firni with Puri

The number of people who do not like to eat sweets is less than the minority. What you see in the picture is a dessert item called Firni. As a dessert, firni is very delicious, healthy and popular in Bangladesh. Usually guests are served a variety of desserts. But firni is given more importance. This dessert is very enjoyable for those who like to eat sweets.

To make this delicious Firni, I used following ingredients;

Aromatic rice powder 150 gm
Milk 1 litre
4 pieces of small cardamom
‌Cinnamon 5 pieces
‌20 grams of raisins.
‌Dried Date 3 pieces
‌Almonds - 20 grams
‌Almonds (কাঠবাদাম) - 30 grams
‌Sugar - 200 grams
‌Clove - 5 pieces

How to cook:

It can be cooked very easily. First you have to take fragrant rice. Then it has to be grinding. After grinding the spices, i mixed them all together. One thing to keep in mind is to grind the rice and garlands properly.

Let's start cooking.
First i have to heat milk in a pan. It will take 5 minutes to heat the milk. This will make the milk thicker and increase the taste of firni. When the milk is becoming hot, i add the fragrant powdered rice and all kinds of spices. Then stir with a spoon for about 20 minutes. Finally, delicious dessert.

Now I will talk about the food with Firni. It is very easy to make. This puri is usually made for breakfast at home or for a small snack in the evening. Puri will require some readily available ingredients. To make this puri, i used;

  1. Flour (250 gm)
  2. Nigella (কালোজিরা) (5gm)
  3. oil 250
  4. salt

How to prepare:


Firstly, I heat the water in a pot. Then I put the flour in another pot and gave hot water there. Then I mixed a little oil and Nigella (কালোজিরা) with the flour. It enhances the taste of puri. Then, I mixed all the amount of water and oil to make the yeast properly.

Then I have made a small round part of the dough. I make round pieces in the shape of puri and start frying in oil one by one. I was able to do it in a very short time. Before frying, I poured oil in a pan. When the oil is heated then i fried all the puri.

Everyone likes to have such a light break for breakfast in the evening. But it is better if it is made at home. Because the foods we eat from the outside are not always healthy. In some cases, it is very harmful. So try to make this kind of food at home.
