Bangladesh is a very small country in South Asia but its culture, tradition and art are very aesthetic. Especially if we talk about making cakes, then Bangladesh is far ahead in this regard. The tradition of making cakes has existed in the rural society of Bangladesh for a long time. Many of us make beautiful and delicious cakes especially in winter. One of the main attractions of rural society in winter is to eat cake in winter morning. Since date juice is extracted, different types of cakes are made with date juice and some cakes are mixed with date juice and eaten together. The cake I'm going to share today is called **Mera Pitha**
(Mera is local name and Pitha means one kind of cake)
Bangladesh has not yet fully started winter. Even then, different families have already started making cakes. I am no exception. I have made a cake for my family. Since my family members like to eat different types of cakes in winter, I enjoy making different types of cakes for them.
Mera pitha has a lot of acceptance in winter in the rural society of Bangladesh. Because Mera Pitha is made in every family. Since everyone collects rice in advance to eat in winter, women make that rice their guru. Then they sit together with this rice and make a cake. The cake is made and steamed. And then the cake becomes suitable for eating. And it is served hot so everyone likes it too.
As you can see in the picture, different shaped cakes. I can only make these few shaped cakes besides women in remote areas of the village can make more beautiful cakes of different shapes. Shapes are produced by hand, not machine.
If any foreigner comes to Bangladesh, I am ending here like today by inviting them to eat this cake.
Thank you very much for reading my post.
