I was craving jeon for breakfast, but I looked in my fridge and I had a little leftover cooked short grain brown rice I didn't want to waste. So I put the rice into the batter (!!) with onion, green onion, and homemade kimchi. I wasn't sure if that was strange, but I felt like at least the virtue of not wasting anything is very Korean, as well as eating whatever you want for breakfast. 😊 I tried searching Google later and couldn't find anything in English, but then I tried searching 밥전 and found some pictures and recipes for rice fritters with just egg, no batter. That makes sense to me, because both rice and flour batter is too carbohydrate-heavy, and the rice and egg will stick together if you mash and shape it. Anyway, it made me curious to hear your creative ideas for leftover rice!
