Making Homemade Chao Fan Rice

in blurtchef •  3 years ago

My wife was craving a Chao fan rice, a recipe from one of the well-known fast-food chains here in the Philippines. It's actually a Chinese-inspired Filipino dish that was integrated into local cuisine in the Philippines. And for this content, I will be sharing with the community how I recreate the recipe with the only available ingredients in our kitchen to satisfy the craving of my spouse.

Since my ingredients are limited, I will be using only what's available. First off I used 1/4 kilo of pork with pure meat cut in small slices, a clove of garlic cut in smaller sizes as well. I also use spring onion and water spinach both were sliced in small sizes also. And to add flavor to the recipe I added a sachet of oyster sauce and black pepper.

To begin with, I saute first the garlic until it turns golden brown in color, then followed by the sliced pork. While waiting for the pork to get fully cooked, I prepared the rice mixed with the beaten egg which is the main ingredient of the Chao Fan.

After mixing the rice and egg, I add the oyster sauce to the sauteed pork until the meat was evenly mixed with the oyster sauce. I then add the rice with an egg that I mixed earlier on.

And lastly, I added the spring onions and water spinach, I mixed it well with the rice then sprinkled it with black pepper.
