This recipe that I will share with you today is not my favorite because I was just born not liking foods cooked with coconut milk or gata. However, I still cook and eat a little because I know that it is healthy and good for the body. That’s what I put into my mind so that I could at least, eat some.
INGREDIENTS
6 cloves of garlic, minced
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 thumb ginger, sliced
6 large shrimps, shelled and deveined
1 large squash, sliced into bite size pieces
10 pcs of string beans or sitaw, cut into 2-3 inches
1 cup water
1 cup gata
salt
oil
3 pieces of green chili
PROCEDURE
- As a Filipino, most of the time we start cooking delicacies by sautéing garlic and onions in a wok.
- Add the ginger and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Then, throw in the shrimps and stir until slightly pink.
- Add the squash and stir fry for about 5 minutes, then the sitaw.
- Season with salt.
- Once the veggies are slightly tender, pour the gata and water. Also add the green chili.
- Let it simmer but do not overcook the vegetables.
- Serve with steamed rice.
