Filling
2 onions chopped
One bell pepper chopped
Three carrots chopped
Three stalks celery chopped
2 cups red cabbage chopped
Parsley one cup
Dill 1/2 cup
Cilantro 1/2 cup
One cup rice raw
One cup lentils half way cooked
1 Tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon chili
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh or powdered garlic
1 tablespoon ground mustard
Three tablespoons tomato paste
Three to four cups vegetable or stock of your choice
Oil for sauté
Mix all ingredients (except
Rice and lentils. They go in last when vegetables are cooked)
Sauté all vegetables and spices till soft add tomato paste. Let cool taste seasoning add if needs more salt or other spices.
When cooled add rice and lentils. Filling is ready. Shape your cabbage
When all cabbage is filled
Add stock to only cover do not over load the stock.
Cook on low to medium heat for about 45 minutes or more till tender and rice if fully cooked
