I can't imagine life without spicy food, have long considered myself a chilihead and constantly spoil myself with spicy sauces. None of our bbqs is without the classic Tabasco, but even Tobasco Scorpion with its 35,000 points on the Scoville scale became something habitual and ordinary with time, and the body literally demanded new capsacin adventures.
I ran out of a bottle of Reaper Sling Blade Hot Sauce this week from the Americans at CaJohns Fiery Foods Company, who combined the hottest pepper in the Guinness Book - Carolina Reaper and the extremely hot Bhut Jolokia, tinged them with lemon juice and thick tomato puree and already ordered myself a new one :)
It's worth saying Carolina Reaper is not only spicy as hell (~1,600,000 on the Scoville scale), but it's also damn tasty and flavorful. Fruity to the point of obscenity and hard to mistake its taste and smell for anything else.
It goes great with charcoal meat, and even better with wings, but most of the time we put it in homemade hot dogs and just a few drops are enough to turn a familiar dish into a real miracle.
By the way, this sauce won an award at the Louisiana State Fair in the "Ultra Spicy Sauce" category and believe me, it deserved it.
It's just top notch and probably my favorite sauce to date.
