Hello, friends especially foodies!
Last Saturday mom and i had decided to have our dinner on the Food Print, a food court on 5th floor West Mall, Grand Indonesia Shopping Center - Central Jakarta before we went home. We came for an early dinner cause we knew this month, some moslem friends would need the chairs later cause they had to break their fast ontime. Mom was on the chair, while me, i needed to order the food and also took it to our table.
The Dining Area
Here was the situation nearby our table. Even it hadn't dinner time yet, it was quite crowded. We even a bit hard to find the empty table and chairs.
The Food Stall
It was located on a corner of the food court.
The Menu
Here they had totally Indonesian Authentic dishes. They also sold some packages for two. I ordered it and then the cashier asked which kind of chicken would i chose for the package so i chose indonesian grilled chicken for mom, while me, i chose the cashier's recommendation, one of their authentic (i never tried it before), Rice walk sambal chicken (rice walk was this food stall's name and sambal was indonesian chilli paste. I asked her to separate the chilli paste with the chicken.
The Food
Our dinner was ready in 8 minutes. I needed to take the trays one by one to our table and here it was the dinner
The package for two included:
2 rice
2 chicken (the thighs were sold out), one grilled, one fried
1 bowl of sayur asem (sour vegetables soup)
2 bakwan jagung (fried corn cake)
2 sweet iced tea
The Taste and Flavour
Grilled Chicken
It had the savory sweet flavour and served with sambal. It was mom's
Rice walk sambal chicken
It was mine. The fried chicken had light savory flavour, but if you added the sambal (authentic it even had teri medan inside, it was a kind of tastiest salted fish here), it would bring out other flavours like spicy, savory and a bit sweet. I really loved their sambal. The best! Never tried something like this before, gem!
Bakwan Jagung
It was the best i ever tasted with savory and sweet flavour. Inside was not thick so it was crispy and made from sweet corn. I really loved it. Only for you know, i am not so into this dish actually but this was different and i loved it! Found another gem.
Sayur Asem
It had some vegetables like melinjo (both leaves and also fruit), jackfruit, corn and of course peanuts. It had sour, savory and a bit sweet flavour. I ate the melinjo too, if you eat it, you had to choose the young ones cause it was easier to peel. It had 2nd skin, first was outter, another was outside the filling. This was one hard so you should open it with your teeth. I already loved to eat this since i was a child so it was easy for me to open it without hand help :).
The Price
For two it was 105,500 IDR or around 7.44 USD for the dinner. Quite affordable, right?
So wanna try authentic Indonesian Food here too?

Hello @devyleona. What beautiful and delicious looking food from this restaurant. There seems to be so much variety in all the dishes. I love corn, so the dish with the small ear looks appeaing.
Thanks for sharing your outing and the restaurant menu and food choices.
