Nata de coco (Pagkaing PInoy)

in blurtchef •  3 years ago

Nata de coco is a speciality of the Philippines prepared from fermented coconut water and served as a dessert. It develops into a jelly-like substance with a soft, chewy, and gelatinous texture after days of fermentation. Nata de coco is usually cut into huge cubes and is pale white and almost translucent. It has a neutral flavor and is usually cut into large cubes.

It originated in the Philippines and exploded in popularity in Japan throughout the 1990s. It is now available in a wide range of flavors and shapes, and while it can be eaten pure, it is most commonly used in fruit salads, yogurts, ice cream, and drinks.
