Bangus, often known as milkfish in English, is the national fish of the Philippines. Because it is an adaptive, strong, and sturdy fish that can survive in limited quarters, it is commonly cultivated on fish farms and is widely available across the Philippines.
Milkfish has a distinct and mild flavor that pairs well with other ingredients. Bangus is commonly served in soups, fried, grilled, barbecued, stuffed, or stewed with a variety of spices, ginger, and vinegar, although bangus-based meals come in a wide range of flavors.
There's nilagpang bangus with broiled milkfish, tomatoes, and onions, rellenong bangus with fried and filled milkfish, coconut milk-cooked bangus, and marinated bangus strips in pasta... The list goes on and on.
Bangus is a distinctive Filipino delicacy that should not be missed, regardless of the preparation method or additional ingredients utilized in meals.
