Have you ever tried incorporating bamboo shoots into your dishes? If it's not on your culinary program yet, I highly recommend trying Adobong Labong. Labong, also known as bamboo shoots, is commonly used in various Asian cuisines. This is because they have a unique texture and great earthy taste. But they taste even better with the right combination of ingredients like pork, shrimp, and some garlic. This is where Adobong Labong comes in.
It gives a lot of flavor to an ingredient bamboo shoots through ingredients like pork broth and vinegar. It's definitely a great choice when you want to experiment with less common vegetables, but want the familiar, meaty taste of Adobo. But I recommend you peel the labong and boil it before using. Only for safety reasons can we remove the cyanide component in bamboo shoots. But if you want to go the safer route, you can buy the canned version instead of eating it fresh.
