Yum, this is what I'm in the mood for today.
That time is rolling around again. Cocktail hour and I'm sipping on a vodka cranberry.
The recipe also known as the Cape Cod is a simple one and doesn't require much preparation.
I like to make mine in the following ratios
25% vodka and 75% cranberry juice.
If you're feeling fancy you can top if off with a lime wedge. Ice or no ice might be a matter of taste. For me, no ice as I don't want it to dilute the drink.
This drink was conceived in 1945 by the Ocean Spray cranberry grower's cooperative under the name "Red Devil" in Cape Cod, Massachusetts
A great way for cranberry growers to sell a bit more of their product. Cranberry juice can run the gamut in taste. Some are bitter while others are mixed with sugar to provide a more sweet taste. I like both and keep a bottle of each so that I may choose what I want when the mood strikes.
Cheers!
