Have you ever known about Golden Apple Snails? Here Golden Apple Snails are considered pests for rice farmers, especially during the rainy season.
Golden Apple Snail in the rice field
In the past few weeks, it has been raining continuously in our area. The rice fields were flooded. That makes Golden Apple Snails more and more.
Then, my neighbor brought a big bowl of Golden Apple Snails from the fields.
She cooks it by dressing it mixed with tofu. Then, she offered me if I would like to eat it.
I honestly told her I wasn't eating Golden Apple Snails right now. I used to eat it when I was a child. But for now, I'm not eating like that anymore.
So I just asked for a little of the dish for me to do the photoshoot.
I consider this an extreme food because I can't bear to eat it when I imagine its slippery body parts. Apart from the reasons I am currently learning to live healthier without protein from animal meat.
Plating
I don't stock up on ingredients. I separate the tofu pieces with the Golden Apple Snails.
I formed irregular abstract ingredients, with chili sauce as the base.
To garnish and create details of different colors, I used watercress leaves.
Photo Shoot Process
In the background, I chose a black cloth. To connect the animal to the dish, I use Golden Apple Snails shells. I chose a clean step and a slightly lighter color so that it doesn't disappear on the dark tone.
I also add dry leaves.
I hoope you enjoy my extreme food photography this time.
