This pandemic makes us do what we don’t normally do. Trying out different pastimes to ease this boredom since we stayed at home for so long.
Here, I’m sharing with you what I did during enhanced community quarantine here in the Philippines. I baked some chocolate chip cookies. The ingredients are just so simple and super easy procedure.
Try this at home and enjoy the sweetness and goodness of these cookies you surely won’t resist.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (unsalted)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 whole egg
- 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Note: If you don’t like your cookies to be so sweet you may adjust the amount of sugar in them. If you have salted butter, omit the salt.
Procedure
In a bowl, mix the butter, salt, white and brown sugar. The butter should at least soften a room temperature to be able for it to blend easily. You can use a spatula or anything you like.
Add egg then mix until combine.
In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, baking soda, and chocolate chips. Make sure to mix it very well until choco chips are coated with flour.
Pour the combined dry ingredients into the mixture. Mix until smooth and until you won’t see traces of flour.
In a tray with parchment paper, put a scoop of a spoon or an ice cream scooper of the mixture, lined it in the tray but with spaces next to each other. Put it in the refrigerator for 5 minutes and let it set. This recipe can make up to approximately 16 pieces of chewy cookies.
Bake in a preheated 350 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 10 to 12 mins.
Set aside to cool.
Tip: You can make the mixture ahead and store it in a fridge for 3 to 7 days. Once you bake, let it rest for room temperature before putting it in the oven.
