Bought a bunch of petai (stink bean) from the morning market today

Hi guys

It's very tedious to harvest these beans as petai tree grows up to 30 meters in the wild. It's called stink beans bcos of the strong gassy smell that can last days. I guess it's available across the SEA countries. We will first remove the beans from the pods before cooking preferably stir fried in chili paste, aromatics, and shrimp paste into a spicy dish call 'sambal petai' (see photo below), a delicacy among the locals and can be eaten raw as well.
