Good morning from this part of the world, I'd like to welcome you all to my blog today.

Today I'll like to present my first ever entry to the #Blurtchallenge contest for week 2 which is about food and art.
Today I made a special local dish, this dish is a popular dish in my region, and it's one of my favorite recipe.

I'll show the step by step process of making the dish, the ingredients used and also talk about some of the health benefits of the dish.

Ogbono is a hearty Nigerian local soup made with precooked beef and bush mango seeds (Ogbono seeds). For a really African dining experience, serve with smooth, delicious, and full-bodied Pounded Yam.

The Ingredients used

  • Beef And Pomo

  • Crayfish Blended One

  • Fish

  • Palm Oil

  • Blended Red Pepper

  • Ògbono seed
  • Ugu (Vegetable)
  • Maggi and Salt

Step 1: Rinse and dust your pomo, then place it in a clean saucepan and cook for a few minutes.

Step 2: Pour the palm oil in a separate pot over medium heat. Once the oil is heated, add the blended Pepper. Toss in the Maggi and season with salt.

Step 3: Mix in the stockfish and crayfish, now cover and simmer for 3 minutes.

Step 4: Once putting the salt, Maggi, and crayfish, cook for 4-6 minutes on average.

Step 5: Clean and add the ugu vegetable to the soup, followed by the Ogbono seed.

Step 7: Cover and cook for 10 minutes on low heat.

Step 8: Now immediately boil the yam, do not add salt to the yam, then pound the yam using a smooth mortar and pestle.

Step 8: Taste the soup; if it requires additional maggi or salt, add a tiny amount and continue to cook for another 10 minutes, or until the vegetables are thoroughly cooked. Take off the heat and serve with the pounded yam.

It's a wow! I am glad to know about this recipe. I am from Philippines and my aunt and cousin are now working in Nigeria. I'd never try yet a cuisine from your country but I'd love to by chance. It is my first time to know that we can mix mango seeds on it and I am not just learning how to cook it but I am gaining new words from you. Thank you for this wonderful soup. Is it perfect for rainy season right?
