WHO PUSHED ME?

There’s this very famous story about two good brothers. I call them good because they loved and were every ready to help themselves.

While one was lazy and relaxed, one worked hard and earned almost everything they got and ate. The former simply encouraged and complimented his brother’s efforts. He played his role perfectly!

One good morning, they heard about a very wealthy mad who had a beautiful daughter. Almost every man wanted to marry her.

The rich man announced that whoever would pass a certain test would not only have her daughter’s hand in marriage. He would give him half of his kingdom too as a reward. The test was quite simple; one was asked to swim from left to right in a pool filled with crocodiles.

The two brothers were present too.

All the men at the contest felt bewildered when the test was announced. How was one supposed to swim in a pool filled with crocodiles?🤔🙄

As they stood they contemplating on taking the test or not, a young man jumped into the pool and started swimming. No, he didn’t jump. Someone pushed him into the pool. He swam very carefully and with every effort in him. The crocodiles happily swam towards to him to have lunch. But they were unfortunate.

The other men present shouted and wailed. They thought him for head. One young man simply cheered and clapped.

29 seconds later, the young man in the pool swam from left to right. He quickly jumped out of the pool angrily and everyone saw his face. It was the hardworking brother.

‘Who pushed me?’ He asked amidst anger.

He saw his younger brother laughing. He immediately knew he was the culprit.

The boy pushed his brother into the pool not out of wickedness but because he believed his brother could pass the test. He knew his brother’s capabilities and saw him winning already.

He pushed him to success.

He pushed him to win.

He helped him grow.

Most often, we are in positions to help others grow. But instead, we stay relaxed and watch them fail. We must learn to lend a helping hand and assist others to grow to their full potentials no matter the circumstances.

We must learn to push people to success, growth and development.
