After graduation what next
After graduating from Michael OkparaUniversity last year, was when I understood that she was genuine. I was waiting for NYSC therefore I decided to acquire a job to fend for myself.
A family acquaintance spoke with my mum and suggested that I come and meet him for instant work. I was thrilled and urged my friend Cyril Ogakwu to tag along since there may be opportunities for more than one.
The place was somewhere along Murtala Muhammad highway Calabar, Cross River State Nigeria, we arrived at the venue with our nicely starched shirts and pants, gosh! we looked fantastic and maybe smelt good too😀. At the door of the venue, we noticed young boys and ladies waiting outside; the way they stared at us, I detected something was amiss, it was either our clothing had stains or we were overdressed for this work.
Keeping hope alive, no atom of uncertainty as to not getting the job, no cause to doubt, we are able, much ability, self encouraged and extremely pleased about the conclusion we foresee, 🤨🤨
Getting very much ready for the interview, we assumed our look alone will bring us the job on a free platter of gold.
Come on, we were new grads and prepared to take on the world with the wonderful information we had collected in 4 years, so we were determined to outwit everyone there and clutch the job(smart moves😃). Up until this moment, we didn't know what we were applying for.
Looking for Job in the present day Nigeria...gosh it's another skirmish to be won after tremendous fight and fortune,
We were escorted inside a poorly organized office, with stacks of old and dusty books, haphazardly put on shaky bookcases. The man who was to interview us appeared bored with the job and I thought he was merely doing this as a routine.
We introduced ourselves and appeared serious, we talked nice and high sounding english to impress, we kept chatting for a long before we started piecing together the nature of the work. He informed us that they were a security business and they employ security guys, who they train and in turn dispatch to banks, hospitals, supermarkets etc. Being that we came via a high positioned staff, we were guaranteed by the interviewer to be sent to a high profile location or establishment.😃😃😃 I glanced at Cyril, Cyril gazed at me fantastically 😂😂😂!! Guess what we did next??
Check my next post lol😂
