One endangered song bird is in danger of losing its songwriting, say scientists.

Regent Honeywright, once seen in large numbers in southeastern Australia, is now listed as one of the most endangered birds in the world. The number of these birds in the world is now 300.

"They (of their kind) don't get a chance to meet other people who will be on their honeymoon and learn the kind of voices they sing," he said. Ross boats.

The study was published in the Royal Society Journal Proceedings B of the UK, reports the BBC.

A member of a complex bird research team at the Australian National University of Canberra. Crates are now trying to teach endangered Regent Honeyters to sing to their relatives in the woods. In this case, he is using songs recorded by wild birds.

These researchers, however, did not participate in the study of the song of the newlyweds, their goal being to find birds.

"They are very common and can cover such a large area, probably ten times the size of the UK, which is why we really needed to get needles in the apartment," Crate said.

This is a difficult search. Crates realized that these endangered birds were ‘singing in a strange way’.

"They didn't sound like Regent Honeyters, they did with other species of birds," the researcher said, recalling the search time.

Singing birds learned songs just as humans learn to speak.

Regent Honeyters has now lost about 90 percent of its living space; They are now so widespread that young male birds do not get along well with other males, and they cannot hear songs from them.

Their original music has already lost 12 percent of Regent Honeywriters
