Ghana, a small, poor country in Africa, is now buzzing with bamboo bicycles. Sales of modern, stylish bamboo bicycles have almost doubled, leaving metal bicycles.

Boomers International Bicycle Manufacturer is training poor people in remote villages in Ghana to make bamboo bicycles. They claim that this bike is much more powerful and stylish than the metal bike. Kobena Danso, CEO of Boomers International, said: "Many young people have found employment in the production of bamboo bicycles. Bamboo bicycles are showing a new direction of work by increasing the demand. These bicycles are also being exported to various countries beyond Ghana."
