Greater Comilla is in the north of Bangladesh. In January and February, Eri paddy is cultivated in Comilla region. Seedlings are first produced in the field from paddy to cultivate Eri paddy. Yes dear friends, today I will share with you some of the methods of cultivating a paddy and the way we do it.

*The first steps,

is to sow seeds in the muddy soil when the water dries up in the rainy season. Seedlings germinate from these seeds in 14 to 15 days. These seeds are then barred. They are made suitable for planting in the ground.

Second steps,

Rice seedlings are picked from the ground and kept in water one day. The next day the saplings were lined up and planted in the cultivated land.

Land preparation,

A cultivation is to be done with water on the land on which the rice seedlings are to be planted. Then weeds have to be cleared to make isle of land. Then one has to cultivate again. Ladder is to be given to level the land. Then various organic fertilizers should be mixed in the soil. In this way the land is suitable for planting rice seedlings.

This is how Eri rice is cultivated in Bangladesh. All the people of Bangladesh depend on this paddy. And the Nabanna festival starts with new rice. Various arrangements of new paddy go from house to house. It seems like a festival in Bangladesh.
