Memories

I visited my aunt yesterday. It was her birthday. Her husband was in the kitchen cooking for her while she was watching that Telemundo thing.

My uncle is 70yrs old, and he excused his daughters from the kitchen yesterday, because it was a special day for his wife.

"She can watch Telemundo for the whole day today," he began.

"I do not care about the News, and I would probably miss this film HBO wants to show today. Have been waiting for this film for a week, and I don't know when next they'll show it," he landed.

I smiled, and helped him in the kitchen, since I was a visitor and could assist him in cooking for the house.

While we cooked, we talked about life in general.

"But I could beg her to give me some time for the film. She doesn't joke with me, and I believe she would grant my request " I posited, resurrecting the concluded issue.

"Not as if she would say no to me, but I really want to make today so about her," he said, closing the chapter I was opening.
.
We both served the whole family yesterday, and you could see the smile on my aunt's face.

"Come here," she said to him.

And as my uncle came to sit beside her, she handed the TV remote over to him.

"But..." he was about speaking.

"Don't worry," she began, breaking his speech.

"I remember your movie would be by 7pm. It's 6:45 already, and it's only for two hours or thereabouts. You deserve some love today too you know. You've been the best I could ever ask for," she concluded.

She gave him a peck, and we began eating while toasting to my aunt's birthday.

"It's a must -- I have to be like this man," I said to myself.

You see, when little things matter, they could matter in a big way.

"It's good to give detailed attention even to the minutest of things."

Good Afternoon.
