Cannulated Wurnt Escaped From County Fair 2024. Acrylic on loose canvas, 20 x 23"
Years ago at the N.Y. State Fair, I saw a living cow with a window built into her side. Fair goers could stop by to peek into the private maelstrom of a digesting cow. A cannula is a surgically implanted flange rubber cylinder for students at universities to monitor a cow’s digestion with their eyeballs. Yesterday, like everyday on earth since I turned 23, I realized that the humans are gross and wickedly specie-centric.
This painting is of a pregnant wurnt for fair-goers to marvel about their own grossness.
Some humans are gross. Not all humans. some humans are mythical beings. Maybe we all are, but have been contaminated with lies that say otherwise.
I'm glad the wurnt escaped. I wonder if it is in pain. Can we mend it?
Ha, no worries. The wurnt is gonna be okay! She just needs a blanket.
