Eyebrows darkened and droopy jowl cleanly Photoshop-tightened for photo in front of winning painting: Morning Deep Love Meditation 2022. Acrylic on canvas, 36 x 24"
Two prizes at the Member’s Exhibition: Honorable mention for “The Last Birds and Mammals of Barcelona”, and The Kirk Beason Memorial Award for “Morning Deep Love Meditation”. I am also published for the first time in an academic journal. No Longer Stuck(ist) in Two Dimensions is at a safe Google Drive link for anyone interested in seeing if I’m telling the truth:) It’s a paper on how “...Augmented Reality (AR) technology can affect viewer engagement compared to the viewing of traditional static artwork”.
Last Friday I exhibited at the 87th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition in Cooperstown, NY. Two of my paintings were selected to show. A long gas-guzzling drive, but worth it for a pristine lake to picnic at pretending the wealth of Croesus.
The two entries for Cooperstown:
Me and Oh My Dear, MY Dear Sweet Love 2022. Acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20"
I don’t think I won a prize because they hung this one over the creepy crawl space air vent.
Heavenly Bouffant 2022. Acrylic on paper, 12 x 16"
Finally, this week I finished my series for a research lab at a Canadian University. Upon request from its founder I painted some designs for a new logo for the lab. He asked for one. I painted 10. The team of scientists will choose their favorite.
More to come. Thanks for reading!

manifeste dimensioniste (1936)

there might be a better version that hasn't been through the French-Hungarian-English grinder.
Thank you very much! I am particularly pleased to see Miro being a contemporary supporter.
:-) many years ago, I investigated the influence of mathematics and physics on early modern art. Seems to be largely written out of art history. lol. This particular manifesto so blatantly lifted the very words of mathematics that was a very clear cut case. The ubiquitous "dimensions" comes from Riemann in 1854.
I have two friends, a physics teacher and a working chemist who love art and “side teach” its connections with science to students and community. Too much categorization. Before science got “scienced to death”, the actively curious were called natural philosophers. Human beings have discovered and created without labels for 307,000 years. Green tea, atom bombs and pictures of green tea and atom bombs. Today I’m not a real artist without gallery representation/authentication. And a scientist is only so with the backing of a university or pharmaceutical grant pile.
Thank you for sending me this manifesto. Never read it before.
There were similar small groups, sometimes with quite famous people, discussing and investigating how the arts could articulate the new-knowledge. These were the very early days of non-euclidean geometry, relativity, quantum mechanics and... psychoanalysis! It's actually really hard to do! lol
Oh, I articulate the psychosis though, very well.
The other stuff, maybe not so much:)
I’ll put up my proteases today. Cell defense is easy to illustrate with a pac man as your guide!😀
