Hi all, today I am sharing another study done from life of an orange. I made sure to use a lamp as a close light source as the effect of light can greatly determine a good or bad painting. It is important to have enough contrast between lights and darks. Painting from life really focuses you to look clearly at an object with all your senses more than any other technique which is also crucial in creating an expressive final piece.

Completed with acrylics on paper over 1-2 hours.

Step by step process

If your intention is to represent clearly what you see and feel with all your senses with the medium of paint you will be on the right track compared to simply copying with a predetermined technique or style
