Hello everyone,
How are you? I want to share my recent art piece which I titled "Moduke". Moduke is a yoruba tribal name which means "Pampering a child is fun". Its a drawing showing an African lady with half of her face with traditional facial markings and eye shining like a star. The other half of her face has no traditional facial markings, just her face with her eyes closed. This drawing is to remind us of our roots. I know of many people around where I come from that see some cultural practice filthy. This shouldn't be so, some are bad though but some should be embraced. This is what makes us us. In the background there are African originated signs and symbols with meaning such as Mother Earth, Courage, Vigilance, Greatness, Endurance, Change, Perseverance, Commitment, Harmony, Energy, Love and Completeness.
The drawing was done on Autodesk Sketchbook using primary pencil and technical pen. The drawing was done with various bright colors on a black background.
