Hello everyone,
Happy Sunday to you all. I bring to you my recent art piece with the title "African Beauty". The art is to celebrate the melanin in us and the beauty in it. We are all beautiful in our very own ways. In my country, I see lot of ladies bleaching because they never appreciated their skin color. This breaks my heart a lot because they don't need to. Self love is one important thing every individual needs to have. Compliment yourself even before others do.
I remembered when I was a teenager growing up, I hated my dentition as my teeth had spaces in between. I feel so ashamed of them that I hardly smile in public, I hardly take pictures. Then I entered the University where their are lot of people of my own age. One day I told myself enough is enough. I looked myself in the mirror and I said "You are beautiful". Since that day, I smiled more. I took pictures, I revealed my spacious dentition. Eventually, people started complimenting me, some people even told me what they loved about me was my teeth. That was the day I realized "Self love" is the key. Love yourself first, and the world will fall inlove with you. We are all beautiful in our very own ways.
For my drawing, I drew on Autodesk Sketchbook using white primary pencil on black background. Also I got my reference picture here .
