To make animating my pixel art that much easier I've purchased Aseprite.
Watched a couple tutorials, and thankfully there's a good amount of them out there. Easy to use, fairly forgiving. There's definitely a few features that are purpose built to help improve pixel art work flow and animation, and they work well.
I'll need a little more time to really get my setup and work flow dialed, but so far so good. My first animation was this 32x32 sprite, a mage? having a little fun with their wand.
I'll have more animated characters shortly, likely animals as well and eventually landscapes. But trying not to get too far ahead of myself, still much to learn and refresh myself on like colour theory.
I've been working with a 256 colour SNES palette recently and have been really digging it. I also made my first custom palette in Aseprite last night.
With a project that I'm working towards I'm kind of under the gun to pick a style, and palette. But I think I'm almost there, just a few more palettes to experiment with yet.
Until next time..
