There is no end to the mystery about the black cat. There is a popular belief in the society that if a black cat is seen on the journey while traveling for an auspicious work, it carries an inauspicious sign.

This superstition is so ingrained in people's minds that many return home without going to their destination,

or wait a while and start the journey again. The fault can be "cut" in this. Others consider the black cat to be representative of the supernatural world.
