Hello everyone, I trust y'all doing great over there. So. today I'll be talking about a computer virus called the Trojan Virus.

The Trojan Horse computer virus is one of the computer viruses that affect computers. The name originates from the ancient Greek story of the deceptive Trojan horse which was used to destroy the city of Troy.

This computer virus is deceptive in the sense that it acts like a normal software application, but behind the scenes, carries out malicious activity. When it affects the computer system, it connects back to the hacker and then the hacker gets access to the system.

With this access, the hacker can do a variety of things such as grab a screenshot of the infected system, spy on the owner via the camera or webcam, take a snapshot of the system, access the folders and files in the system, and download sensitive information from it.

Operating systems that are most vulnerable to the Trojan virus are the Windows and Android Operating systems. IOS devices are also vulnerable to this virus, but the most popular;y hacked OSes are the Windows and Android OS.

When a hacker gets access to the system using this virus, he could go further to implement other backdoors to the systems for easy access whenever he wants to. Some can even go further and install ransomware on the system which locks out and encrypts important folders and documents of the user and demands for ransom before decrypting.

HOW TO BE SAFE

There are different ways of being safe from this kind of virus. They include

  • Do not download unknown applications on your computer systems.
  • Download only official apps from their official websites and stores.
  • Always turn on your antivirus and keep it running
  • If you need to use any unknown application, install it on a virtual machine. That way, it is much safer.
  • Keep your antivirus applications up to date.
Always update your operating systems upon release of updates from manufacturers. These updates have patches to them for certain vulnerabilities you may not know of.

I hope you have learned a thing or two from my blog today. Thank you for stopping by, and for your continuous support. I really appreciate it.
