A "job" is described as "an activity that an individual performs in exchange for a specific fee or payment." It is also known as a job, line of work, career, or trade. An individual has a duty to work effectively for his employer since he gets compensated for it. A job is a type of formal work. When one is employed for a position, he must enter into a contract with his employer and follow by the company's rules. It refers to a certain kind of work where the job description for the employee is quite specialized. It entails working on a certain project with the intention of receiving payment for the work completed. The word "job" is also used in place of "work," although work has a different meaning.

Both as a noun and as a verb, "work" is used. the word "work" was first used to describe an industrial setting. It derives from "worc" or "weorc," an Old English term that indicates "something done, action, or business."

It has a more general definition and may apply to all sorts of activities that a person engages in. It might be anything a person performs as part of his duties to his family, like preparing their meals and cleaning the house. Additionally, it may be something that a person enjoys doing, like gardening or volunteering at a church. Contrary to a job where he gets paid for what he does, an individual does not always have to be compensated for his effort.
