Innocence and audible whispers -- the eternal beauty of kids. If we could be like them.

While seated by a pew in the church today, a little boy of 4years old whispered these words into my ears:

"Uncle I like your glass"

"Thank you," I replied, smiling at him.

"Don't say 'thank you' so that my daddy will not hear it," he pleaded, having brought his mouth closer to my right ear for a second time.

I smiled, and whispered this into his: "Why don't you want your father to hear it?"

"Because he said I should not disturbing people I don't know," he whispered innocently.

He reminded me of my little master Rob, since they're almost of same age. But I think Rob has improved in his mastery of whispering, unlike the very first time he wanted us to keep certain secrets away from his mother.

The boy at the church?

He hasn't mastered his, for there was a funny thing about his whispers, and this is synonymous to that beautiful innocence of kids -- it was audible.

His father heard every word of his, and was even smiling before his son could turn towards him.

"Daddy why are you smiling?" he asked, wondering if his father's smile was bred by the contents of the Gospel being delivered by the Rev. Father.

"I will buy you fine glasses tomorrow," his father said.

"Ah Daddy, so you hear me?" he asked, feeling disappointed that he had disobeyed by disturbing a total stranger.

"Daddy are you angry?" he added, with an undertone laden with fear.

"No my son ; just listen to Rev. Father" the man said, assuring him of no punishment.

His face was lit up with an amazing smile, as he listened to the Priest with so much attention.

After we had bid each other farewell at the end of the missa, I reflected on the innocence of kids and the universally acknowledged audible whispers of most of them --the expression is a beautiful sight to behold.

What if every human had the innocence of kids?

The world would have been a better place to live in.
