Be careful of public WiFi

Hello everyone, hope your day is going on well,
Recently a friend was almost scammed by connecting to a public WiFi he saw on his phone,the wifi was on,it was without password so it wasn't lock.
He thought maybe he could join the network as he was thinking that it was his neighbor's because according to him they share wifi with each other (my friend and his neighbor share wifi at times with each other)
So he dint bother calling his neighbor to ask wether it was his wifi since they share wifi so he just conected and he was simply enjoying the free WiFi but not upto about five minutes,his phone started heating up and he was wondering why so he tried disconnecting from the wifi but the phone had already gone dark.. sleeping mode so he forced the phone on but still slept back so that was when it dawned on him that he was been cyber scammed so he forced shut down the phone.
So when the phone was put on,so many malware or apps were already installed on his phone..if he had opened any of those apps,he would have lost total control of his phone and then maybe his bank password or important documents and alll...lets all becareful with public WiFi.
