Blurt my story

in blurtafrica •  4 years ago

Hey blurters,

In the words of one of my favourite humans, Maya Angelou "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you". Which is why, I @Kristin89 from South Africa would like to tell you my story, don't skip through the pages.

As one of the youngest female leaders in my organisation, you can imagine my journey was not pleasant, many battles to fight, social ills to overcome and stereotypes to break.

I joined blurt via @trev03, as I was in search of a platform in which I could openly share my leadership journey one which would allow me to empower and uplift other women but most importantly one that will set the stage to connect with other power women out there in light of the #womenempowerwomen movement.

Amongst my passion for women empowerment, I head up a digital team in the insurance industry which I did happen to land up in by accident, but thats a story for another day.

Apart from slaying the corporate world in heels by day, I will happily swap those heels for my nike's and the open road. I am an avid writer and love travelling when I am not studying or mentoring younger women in the industry.

Follow me as I endeavour to create a platform for the next generation of #blurtwomen

Regards,
@kristin89

@megadrive thank you! I was speaking at a career expo (one of the many hats I wear).
