What You Need To Know About National Unity In Nigeria

Greetings blurtians and welcome to my blog, today I am going to tell you some thing you need to know about national unity.

National unity is achieved when people from different parts of a country come together to do things in common as one big family. Here in nigeria for instance, there are people with different languages, customs and traditions, yet we are all Nigerians.

There are three ethnic group in nigeria, which are

Things that United us
The characteristics of national unity are the things that Unite us as citizens of the same country. These include:

  • One Constitution: Everyone is governed by the same law written in the constitution. Everybody is seen as equal before the law.

  • Common National Goals and Objectives: Everyone contributes his or her skills and quato making sure that the set goals and objectives are successfully achieved for the growth of the nation.

  • Common National Symbols: Everyone recognises and respects the national symbols, such as the flag, National Anthem, Coat of Arms, National Pledge, etc.

  • Common Identity and Destiny: There's specific and shared Identity among members. They have shared understanding of who they are, how they originated and have developed over time.

  • Common National Bond: Everyone recognises and helps strength national Bond, as we know we all belong to the same country.

  • Common Official Languages: Everyone recognises English language as the official language of communication with people of other tribes.

  • Common Law Enforcement Angencies: Everyone is protected by the same law enforcement agencies, such as the Army, Police, Customs and Immigration.
