My student industrial work experience scheme (SIWES) was at the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, Michael Okpara university of Agriculture umudike, Abia State.
The Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology (PSB) was carved out of the former Department of Biological Sciences in the college of Natural and Applied Sciences under the leadership of Professor Hilary Odo Edeoga. The Department offers a wide range of aspects in Plants Science and Biotechnology relevant to Environment, Agriculture and industry from the molecular level up to whole plant bases. During my internship I was opportune to work under the following units:
Botanical Garden
Herbarium
Horticultural unit and
Laboratory unit
Undergraduate and IT students from Plant Science and Biotechnology acquire a sound background that is deeply rooted in laboratory and field-based experience in the broad array of disciplines within Plant science and Biotechnology

My few months industrial attachment in the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State has been one of the most interesting, productive and instructive experience in my entire life.
Through the training, I have gained new insight and more comprehensive understanding about my course of study.
