This sounds funny but is true, most Africans are dark in complexion, I guess because of the weather mostly at the northern regions. This skin color has brought discrimination, deprivation of right, low self-esteem, comparison as well as skin reactions including cancer for those bleaching to change their colour.
Take for instance a fair lady is given preferential treatment more than a dark lady, it is said her beauty is charming.
Any where a fair people is he gains respect more than the dark except, a times it is assumed the fair people ( white) are more intelligent than dark ( black) people, this mostly happens especially if the fair person is not an African maybe another continent. Except if the black performs an extraordinary tasks that is the only time they are given listening ears.
There is this feeling of making a dark person feel inferior. According to history during the time when slavery was still on, when the white sleeps with the blacks and the baby happens to be white he carries the child, but if he baby is dark he abandons the child.
Many dark people in order to met up the standard that the society approves, they go as far as using all kinds of soaps, creams etc just to change their colour from dark to fair, because of the harsh weather here in Africa, the cream causes sun burn for those who are exposed to ultraviolet Ray, this makes their complexion to have different colours , rashes and cancer. It has been observed that bleaching cream causes body odour, sweating a lot and makes lady grows hairs rapidly even bears, etc.
God only created individuals in his own image, let's not create room for discrimination.
